starts from £3,250

Come and discover some of the delights of this wonderful country. Begin in Delhi with a tour of the old city, experience Taj Mahal at dawn. Visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and sample the tandoori cuisine of the Punjab. Take in the charming cities of Rajasthan, with a trip to Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur, visiting the beautiful palaces and temples of the Moghul empire. I always love returning to India, my parents are originally from Gujarat. The people are so friendly and curious. I love exploring the streets on foot, camera in hand, and taking in the energy and colour.

Delhi and Agra

Day 1 to 3 begin your adventure in Delhi by touring the old quarters and wonderful colonial buildings of Delhi. Next day after an early start, arrive at the Taj Mahal at dawn and be wowed! I had waited a long time to experience this and I was not disappointed. The cup of hot chai at 5am in Agra was the best I have ever had. Later in the day we visit the Agra Fort.

Amritsar, home of the Golden Temple

Day 4 to 6 we will travel to Amritsar and explore the Golden Temple. Learn about what happened when India and Pakistan became independent at the fascinating Partition Museum. Take a tour around the Golden Temple, perhaps help to make chapatis and help feed the visitors! Enjoy a touch of showmanship at Wagah-Attari border ceremony. Here each evening before sunset, the flags are lowered on each side of the India and Pakistan border with unabashed enthusiasm. For you foodies this is the home of the tandoor oven!

Jaipur, the Pink City

Day 7 to 10 stroll around the streets of this remarkable city, enjoy hearing about its fascinating history and be dazzled by the architecture and colour. Visit the nearby Amer Fort. This is a dream place for photographers!
